Planning a weekend out in the wild? We have a plan for you. Tourism Minister Tom Butime has Friday officially re-launched primate tourism (gorilla tracking) in Buhoma conservation area of Bwindi impenetrable forest.
The minister was accompanied by officials from Uganda Wildlife Authority including the UWA Executive director.
Tourism of primates was closed in March in the wake of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
With the easing of lockdown by president Museveni and re-opening of borders and the airport, Butime noted that tourists are now free to visit Uganda national parks.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) against COVID-19 have been put in place to ensure the safety of tourists and primates.
