KAMPALA - Five civilians have been arraigned before the General Court Martial (GCM) sitting at Makindye Kampala and charged with unlawful possession of military stores.

The charged include Ashiraf Mubiru alias Seka, 20, Isaac Masa aka Mikidadi, 18 and George William Ssekate, 19.

The group was charged alongside; Hassan Wandera, 53, a resident of Bweyogerere in Katabi Town Council, Wakiso district and Muhoozi Kyaligonza, 41, residing at Kireku in the same district.

The GCM Chairman, Lt. Gen Andrew Gutti, charged and remanded the group to Kitalya Prison having denied two counts of illegally possessing a firearm and ammunition.

Upon denying the charges, the prosecution led by Maj Samuel Masereje, invited the court to adjourn the case to enable them complete investigations in the matter.

"My Lord Chairman, we pray that this case is adjourned to enable us complete the pending investigations," Masereje requested.

This prompted Gutti to adjourn the case to October 12, 2020 and the accused were remanded to Kitalya Prison, until then.
