Masaka Road night accident claims one, another critically injured

It is alleged that following the collision, the driver lost control of the vehicle and knocked the guardrails, dying instantly.

One person died on the spot last night when a speeding Fuso truck got involved in a head-on collision with another vehicle which was carrying sand on the Masaka Road.

Eyewitnesses said the Fuso truck was headed towards Masaka while the Canter that was full of sand was moving towards Kampala.

One person was rushed to hospital in critical condition.

 

The deceased has been identified as Joseph Ssembatya, 30, a resident of Mpambire in Mpigi district, who was the driver of the Canter. One other person was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

The accident occurred at Nakyetema swamp between Mpambire and Bubuule.

The Police arrived at the scene shortly after the accident and rushed the injured passenger to the hospital as investigations into the cause of the fatal mishap continue.
