MITYANA - Leaders of Mityana diocese have launched a project to fence off the bishop's residence and use the land for modern agricultural activities.

"We are fencing off the home and we continue using the land for agriculture. This will help us to protect it from grabbers and encroaches," Dr James Bukomeko, the bishop of the diocese, said.

He was speaking from his home at Namukozi on Monday, at the breaking of the ground ceremony, for the construction of the perimeter wall.

Information and communications technology minister Judith Nabakooba commended Bukomeko for the move, saying it will protect the land.
