Remembering a model of tidiness and upright character

He was a personification of cleanliness at our home and, indeed, wherever he stayed, be it at school, in the garden, shop or houses at work.

CELEBRATING LIFE

It is now 10 years and six months since this icon of tidiness and uprightness left this earth to go to his maker.

He was a personification of cleanliness at our home and, indeed, wherever he stayed, be it at school, in the garden, shop or houses at work.

"He would say Eki mukyesire ekiraaro kyente? translated to mean "Do you think this is a cattle Kraal?" whenever he would come home and find the big compound untidy.

He would immediately start picking papers, leaves, goat droppings and would, of course, expect you (the children) to join him and conclude the exercise as quickly as possible and go back to your chores.

Whenever someone would do something or say something in a clumsy way or even behave in a way that is far from expected, he would say: Yaihaho Omujabiri translated "You are completely out of order, go away" thereby declaring whatever you were doing was rubbish.

The entire village knew him and called him "LION" ekicuucu, because of his seriousness and resolve whenever he believed in something.

Whenever someone derailed him, he would say Owomujabiriro translated as "disorganiser" and he would walk away, of course, to go as far as decampaigning you so that society is not put off track and he would not rest, until he had fulfilled his mission.

He had a stint in politics, serving over 10years as chairman RC II (LCII) of Ruharo Muvuka, until he handed over to younger persons, claiming the responsibility was depriving him of enough time to carry on his personal activities and fulfilment of his plans.

Today, we have the courage to write and celebrate his life for it is a life, that speaks volumes of love and not death.

His calls for greater quality during his political stint were often unheeded, but for him he stayed true to his convictions and would never ever get discouraged.

He would encourage progress and would never ever get discouraged.

He would encourage progress not by pushing his own ideas on you but by seeking out your own and voicing them out for you, to greater self construction.

Tribute by Tuwangye's son, Vincent Tumuhaise, in honour of his loving memory.
