KAMPALA - Uganda's COVID-19 cases have reached 4,101 after the health ministry confirmed 201 new cases of the virus from tests done on Tuesday, September 8, 2020.

Of the new cases, 198 are contacts and alerts from various districts. Kitgum registered the most cases, 80, Kampala registered 38, Moroto 23, Gulu 10 and Amuru eight. 

Lira and Wakiso registered six cases each, Kikuube and Zombo had four each while Gulu recorded three.

Other districts that recorded new cases include Amolatar, Buikwe, Butebo and Lamwo with two cases each. Arua, Kasese, Koboko, Luwero, Mukono, Butaleja and Nakaseke registered one case respectively.

Two truck drivers from Elegu point and one returnee from UAE also tested positive for the virus.

To date, Uganda has registered 1,876 recoveries and 46 deaths.
