COVID-19: DPP staff tests positive, office closed to public

The DPP revealed that all necessary measures are being undertaken to comply with requirements of COVID-19 positive case, including isolation of immediate contacts.

KAMPALA - The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) headquarters in Kampala has been closed to the public after one the staff tested COVID-19 positive.

According to notice issued by the DPP, Jane Frances Abodo, on September 9, members of the public, ODDP field staff and stakeholders have been advised not to visit the office for 14 days.

"Alternative means of interacting with our headquarters, should be explored such as making complaints online," Adobo said.

Adding that "Only very urgent files will be received from police,".  

She revealed that all necessary measures are being undertaken to comply with requirements of COVID-19 positive case, including isolation of immediate contacts.

Also, some sections of the office including the registry and documentation center are temporarily closed.

As of September 9, cumulative coronavirus cases in Uganda had reached 4,101 with 46 deaths and 1,876 recoveries recorded according to figures from the Ministry of Health.
