Rukutana family camps at Mbarara Police station, demands his release

Rukutana was arrested on Saturday following an incident in which he was accused of firing bullets.
The family of the state minister for labour, Mwesigwa Rukutana, has camped outside Mbarara Central Police station, demanding for his release.
According to Owen Murangira, the lawyer of Rukutana, his client has been detained in Police cells beyond 48 hours without being taken to court.
Murangira said that the charges of attempted murder slapped against Rukutana were trumped up, arguing that his client never released any bullet on Saturday.
Rukutana was arrested on Saturday following an incident in which he was accused of firing bullets.
He has since denied the accusations even as President Yoweri Museveni said he should be prosecuted.
