Assailants chop off woman's head in Rwampara

RWAMPARA - Police has recovered a body of a woman dumped in a banana plantation with her head chopped off in Rwampara district. 

Homicide detectives have identified the deceased as Lydia Kapasika, 45, a resident of Kinyungu Cell, Ryamutonga Parish, in Rwampara.

Before her demise, Kapasika left for Mwizi trading Centre on Monday to mend her clothes. She never returned.

A police report seen by New Vision indicates that; after the gruesome murder the assailants dumped the body in her step son's (Paul Mubangizi), banana plantation.

Preliminary Police findings indicate that Kapasika, a widow also lost her son last year in another mysterious murder - the killers also chopped off his head and dumped the body.

Police has since linked the motive of the murders to discontent in sharing family property.  Without mentioning names Police said; one suspect had been arrested to help with investigations.
