Three men held for impersonating UPDF officers

JINJA-The UPDF in Jinja is holding three men suspected to have been soliciting for money from youth promising to recruit them into the army.

They were operating in areas of Budondo , Kakira and Bugembe in Jinja district calling themselves military officers. 

The UPDF Spokesperson in Busoga region Capt. Edwin Mawanda says, investigations are  ongoing to find those using military uniform yet they are civilians.

He appealed to the public especially in the areas of Busoga to be very careful of con men and report any suspicious people misusing the military uniform.

He added that, when the UPDF is carrying out any recruitment they always inform the public.
