Ndeeba Church demolition: Policeman charged with escape from lawful custody

Buganda Road Magistrate's Court has charged a senior Police officer attached to the Field Force Unit with escaping from lawful custody.

Superintendent of Police Martin Adero is among the several officers said to have connived with businessman Dodovico Mwanje to demolish St Peter's Church in Ndeeba.

The prosecution says that on August 13, 2020; while in lawful custody at Railways Police Station following his arrest by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit, Adero fled from the watch of Police Constable Robert Asiimwe.

He has pleaded not guilty to the offence and magistrate Asuman Muhumuza ordered him to deposit sh500,000 before releasing him on bail.
