Amidst the uncertainty brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, the fourth edition of the Kampala Innovation has been launched today in a virtual arrangement for reasons known to many by now.

Partly organized by Talent Africa Group, the launch was broadcasted live via a zoom meeting that saw panelists from various partners of the initiative giving headway into this year's event.

Set to run from November 26 to November 28, 2020, the innovation week comes with a timely theme stating, "Recovery and Resilience: Innovation and Entrepreneurship as a tool for the youth" today.

Richard Zulu, one of the organizers of the Kampala Innovation Week revealed that what informed this theme were the effects of COVID-19 to various entrepreneurs, hence requiring them to show the highest level of resilience if they are to recover.

Chris Lukolyo from Uganda National Capital Development Fund (UNCDF), one of the partners of the event, says that most importantly, such events seek to bring together innovative minds and ideas because then, the innovators will be able to grow and find more effective solutions to various challenges.

At the end of it, a selected number of startup innovators will be able to pitch their projects to various investors, hence an opportunity for funding, as Startup Uganda clarified during the launch.

Zulu intimated that participation in the Kampala Innovation Week is free of charge and those interested can visit the Kampala Innovation Week website to register.
