Lillian Ajio has failed to shake off a knee injury she sustained during the 2019 Netball World Cup in Liverpool.

More than a year since the tournament, the She Cranes assistant captain is still feeling pain in her knee.

"I got the knee injury (torn horns of the meniscus) and I was advised to rest for like six months but it hasn't become better because I still have some pain. I did some scans during the World Cup and they found a small tear in my knee ligaments, I thought by resting all would be well but I still have pain," Ajio said.

During the tournament, she consulted one of the physiotherapists who recommended rest and cutting down her game time.

"I've taken all the advice I was given by the physiotherapist into action, but I feel like the injury is too big. I will do one more scan and see whether I will be good to go next year," she explained.

Ajio took time off last season and did not play for Uganda Prisons who finished third in the Super Division but as things look she is still destined for a longer spell on the sidelines.

This lack of improvement has pushed Ajio to look for another solution and is planning to get another scan done that will further explain what she is dealing with.
