The State Minister for Lands Persis Namuganza excited Wakiso National Resistance Movement (NRM) delegates during her campaign for the position of the second chairperson of the NRM party.

Namuganza said Rebecca Kadaga has been in the same position for 25 years but she had not been visiting party members at the grass-root level.

She accused Kadaga of frustrating motions in parliament that are tabled to cater for the NRM party's interests.

A case in point according to Namuganza, the Speaker frustrated a motion that was meant to cater for the NRM structures.

The motion would see NRM delegates earn some money every month to improve their standards of living and to motivate them. Namuganza said the party members at different levels carry out party work but they do not earn any money.

She further stated that the speaker frustrated such a motion and she even refused her deputy speaker to handle the matter.

Namuganza then asked the members to reshuffle the party leadership saying it's time to include young people in the party's leadership.

In the same district delegates meeting, Capt. Mike Mukula who is contesting for the NRM vice-chairperson in the eastern region warned the party members against envy and called for unity in the party.

Mukula revealed that the government releases money meant for development for all people but very few people benefit from it.

He condemned the act saying it tarnishes the image of the ruling party and added that he is going to inform the President about it.

According to Mukula, many people get money from the NRM government but they do not inject it in the party activities.

He vowed to continue fighting for Pan- Africanism as one of the NRM ideologies and asked for support to become the NRM vice chairperson eastern region.

Godfrey Kiwanda Suubi, who wants the position of the NRM vice-chairperson in the central region promised to come with the law that will enable the party's delegates to earn salaries and other benefits.

He urged Wakiso delegates to support him for the continuity of the party's ideologies, even after the retirement of President Museveni.
