Kaziimba tips Christians on protecting Church land

The remarks come shortly after St. Peter’s Church in Ndeeba under Namirembe diocese was demolished on Monday.

KAMPALA - The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Dr. Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu, has asked Christians to make research on all Church land titles and any Clerical vital document.

Kaziimba made the remarks during today's service at his home in Namirembe, Kampala.

The remarks come shortly after St. Peter's Church in Ndeeba under Namirembe diocese was demolished on Monday.

"It's our role as church members to do research and find out the status of church land in order to avoid actions of demolishing churches like what happened to St. Peter's," Kazimba said.

The Archbishop also asked the Government to include the church in its budget, saying the church plays a big role in developing the country, including paying taxes.

Earlier, church clerics led by Kaziimba's wife Margaret, cut a cake to mark the Archbishop's 58th birthday.
