Lt.Gen. Henry Tumukunde has launched his presidential bid and unveiled his pressure group dubbed 'Renewed Uganda' in a low key.

The event was mainly attended by his family and friends. Orange offered a colorful backdrop to the event, with chairs, a number of guests and dancers clad in fitting orange t-shirts.

Speaking about dancers, they lit up the event with entertainment.

In his speech, Tumukunde defended the orange color, saying it's the colour of the revolution. He said, the sitting government has done something but whatever achieved, has been distorted.

He called upon all Ugandans to join a ‘Renewed Uganda', to cause change instead of reversing our country.

Tumukunde aslo appealed to leaders in Uganda to do the right thing so as to give hope to the oppressed Ugandans.

"I know you wanted to see big people, the likes of professors, big masses but my focus is on the common person; the poor mothers, bodaboda riders especially the youths, who are suffering today," he said.

He praised women for who they are today, vowing to empower them when he clings into power.

"I have come to shape the future of our country and we need to do this together as a collective responsibility for all Ugandans," he said.
