Youth urged to engage in productive activities

Sseninde made the remarks during the International Youth Fellowship (IYF) World Youth Connect Summit that was held on Zoom video conferencing.

Rosemary Nansubuga Seninde, State Minister for Primary Education has urged the youth to engage in productive activites during the lockdown.

She said, "Since schools a have not yet been opened as a measure to combat COVID 19,young children and especially youth need to engage into productive activites rather than those that lead them to breaking the law."

Sseninde made the remarks during the International Youth Fellowship (IYF) World Youth Connect Summit that was held on Zoom video conferencing.  

Since the lockdown, youths have resorted to roaming across city centres and villages were they reside in search for petty jobs. Some have resorted to playing indoor games such as Ludo.

Sseninde applauded Ock Soo Park the chief organizer of the world camp and said, despite the COVID 19 outbreak in the world, this hasn't stopped the IYF from taking place. The conference usually takes place in Korea every year but this has been conducted online to bring people together.

She said, IYF is not only a place of change but also a networking platform for youth across the world.
