Uganda reopens tourism doors after long lock-down

He said that another team of 260 tourists who had booked prior to the outbreak ofCOV ID-19  arrived in Queen Elizabeth National Park via Katungulu point, on Wednesday.

On Thursday, the tourism minister, Tom Butime was happy and excited to receive a delegation of European ambassadors in Uganda on a visit to Queen Elizabeth National Park in Kanungu, Western Uganda.

Butime met the team at Njojo Lodge in Ishasha where he announced that the country had opened doors to tourism. He said that another team of 260 tourists who had booked prior to the outbreak of COV ID-19  arrived in Queen Elizabeth National Park via Katungulu point, on Wednesday.

Butime said the government was still monitoring the situations and soon or later Entebbe airport will be opened to enable tourists to visit Uganda. The EU delegation was led by the head of mission, Attilio Pacifici, while others are from France, Belgium, Hungary, Austria and Italy. He appealed to Ugandans to start visiting tourist sites to boost domestic tourism.
