Mustafa Kizza bids emotional farewell to KCCA FC

The 20-year-old, whose deal with Montreal Impact will start on August 12 will remain with KCCA on loan until December because of the current Covid-19 pandemic.

Mustafa Kizza has bid farewell to KCCA FC and says he is ready for the new challenge at Major League Soccer side Montreal Impact.

"All good things come to an end. After six years at KCCA, it's time for me to say goodbye to the club I love. The club that made me the man and the footballer that I am today," Kizza wrote on his Facebook page.

"I would like to thank my teammates and all the members of the club who accompanied me throughout. Thank you coach Abdallah Mubiru, Richard Malinga, and John Ayala Luyinda for bringing me to KCCA and coach Mike Mutebi and his staff who gave me confidence. I also thank the fans for their support throughout the seasons and you have all played a part in my progression over the last years. I hope you are proud of that, at least I am proud to have worn the jersey of the best team in Uganda and now I am a supporter. I will follow KCCA games."

Kizza whose contract at KCCA was to expire at end of the year was not ready to renew it and its reported that KCCA received more than $180,000 from Arsenal and France legend Thierry Henry coached side.

Kizza who scored five goals and created 12 goals in 19 games last season joined KCCA senior team in 2017 from their developmental side. He has also trials with Liga side Real Valladolid, Swiss side Lausanne, Morrocan side Hassania Agadir and the Czech Republic third-tier side MFV Vyskov but he failed to secure a permanent move.

At Montreal Impact, Kizza joins former Tottenham Hotspurs and Kenya's Harambee Stars skipper Victor Wanyama and former Barcelona attacking forward Bojan Krkic.

Kizza leaves KCCA a happy player having won the league title, Uganda Cup, CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup, CECAFA Kagame Cup, FUFA Super Cup, and the Super 8 Cup.

The former Kakungulu High Memorial student joins Jackson Nunda, Nicholas Kasozi, Erisa Sekisambu, Sadam Juma, Simon Sserunkum among the players who have left the club.
