KAMPALA - Uganda Electricity Generation Company (UEGCL) Head of Communication and Corporate Affairs Simon Kasyate has thrown in the towel after four years on the job.
In a notice on UEGCL twitter handle, the firm announced that Kasyate "resigned from this position with effect from 17th July 2020 after 4 monumental years."
NOTICE❗️: Mr. Simon Kasyate - Head Communication and Corporate Affairs resigned from this position with effect from 17th July, 2020 after 4 monumental years of dedicated service at Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited.

Before his appointment at UEGCL, Kasyate worked as Corporate Affairs Manager Eskom Uganda Limited -an electricity generation company.
The reasons behind his resignation remain scanty but UEGCL said "Our best wishes to Simon in his endeavours ahead."
In 2018, Kasyate applied for a top executive position at the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB). His application for the job reportedly caught many top officials at UEGCL by surprise, a source told us. He, however, lost the UTB position.
