Final score: Konyaspor 4-3 Basaksehir

Farouk Miya is riding high on form and confidence. The Cranes attacking midfielder is relentless and simply unstoppable.

Not even the Turkish Super League table leaders Istanbul Basaksehir, unbeaten in six games, could stand in his way on Monday night.

Less than a week after inspiring Konyaspor to a priceless 1-0 win over Rizespor, Miya was back to what he has fast become accustomed to -scoring -this time twice against Basaksehir in an emphatic 4-3 win at Konya Buyuksehir Belediyesi Stadium.

In probably his best career 45-minute cameo, the Ugandan star took matters in his own hands after Basaksehir had taken an early lead through Edwin Visca.

He thumped home his first with an aerial volley on 20 minutes and notched his second on the turn, a minute into half time after teammate Ali Sahinir had given Konyaspor the lead.

Miya's first was even more exceptional. He initiated the move yards away from the centre of the pitch, played a series of touches before setting up teammate Alper Uludag down the left.

Uludag's perfectly weighted cross found Miya in full flight. With Basaksehir defenders all caught flat-footed, Miya expertly thumped the ball into the roof of the net to guarantee a 3-1 half time lead.

Senegalese star Demba Ba and Eljero Elia then responded with opportunistic strikes, but Slovakian defender Nejc Skubic ensured Miya walked out of Konya stadium in style, with an 85th minute winner.

Konyaspor are 14th on the 18-team table and clear relegation trouble with 33 points from 32 matches.

Miya could prove the difference yet again against Trabzonspor on Saturday if his first touch, ability to anticipate, acceleration and devastating ability to shoot from anywhere in and around the box, do not elude him.

He has since managed eight goals in 24 league outings.
