The effects of the COVID-19 lockdown have continued to hit sportsmen real hard, with the latest being bodybuilder and reigning Mr. Kampala Geoffrey Lubega.

Lubega is seeking financial support after he was evicted by his landlord for failure to clear his rent arrears that  accumulated during the lockdown totaling to sh750,000.

Lubega, one of the most decorated musclemen in the country, a father of two kids, and a resident of Kinaawa-Natete has asked   wellwishers to help him to clear his house rent saying he was left with nothing due to the lockdown as he cannot work.

"My landlord gave me up to 12th of this month to clear my rent or vacate her house, but I have nowhere to get the money, we have been seated at home for the last four months following President Museveni's directives that stopped us from working, I am stuck," Lubega said.

Lubega has been asked to vacate his rented house by his landlord

Before the lockdown, Lubega used to manage a shoe vending business in St. Balikuddembe market commonly knowns as Owino, but since then he has been at home following the closure of non-food stuff vending section of the market to help curb the spread of the coronavirus.

"I am left without a single coin with my family already starving. We have even consumed the capital I used to have to run my shoe vending business, I call for well-wishers such as Maama Fiina (Sophia Namutebi) to come for my rescue"

He adds that his recent discussion with Uganda Bodybuilding and Fitness Association did not yield anything as Twaha Ddungu, the association president urged him to look for other means as the association was also facing the same financial constraints.
