Vipers capture Jamil Kalisa signature

The 21-year-old played for Vipers coach Fred Kajoba at Bright Stars

Although Vipers have bolstered their squad when look at some of the signings they have done, there are areas in their squad which could do with strengthening ahead of the 2020/21 season.

Indeed that's why coach Fred Kajoba has gone ahead to patch up several holes in the team with bringing players in readiness for the forthcoming season.

With former Express FC captain Disan Galiwango and Mbarara City's midfielder Ibrahim Orit already in the Kitende-based squad, Vipers have gone the extra mile to acquire the services of Bright Stars midfielder Jamil Kaliisa.

Kaliisa who can also play as support striker, had a year left on his contract at Bright Stars, but managed agreed to a four-year deal with the reigning Uganda Premier League champions.

With the upcoming season likely to be demanding for Vipers including battles on the continental front in the CAF Champions League, Uganda Premier League, Uganda Cup, FUFA Super 8 and FUFA Super Cup, there has been the need to reinforce the ranks with talents of Kaliisa's calibre.

Kaliisa who reunites with Kajoba after the pair's stint at Bright Stars, started his career at the National Sports Academy before Lungujja Galaxy - a Rubaga regional side - spotted him in 2017 enroute to joining Bright Stars at the start of the 2018/19 season.

The 21-year-old who has been linked to Vipers since the end of the 2019/20 season, was also a Futsal player before he joined Bright Stars.
