Lady Doves step up preparations for 2020/2021 season

With just two seasons in the topflight, Lady Doves have made a progress in the the women football league.

In their first season in 2019, they lost in the final. However, last season they were second before the league was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

With the 2020/2021 season expected to kick off in November, Lady Doves have already started their preparations with the renewal of  player contracts.

"We have unfinished business at Lady Doves. I have a duty to motivate my teammates to work hard this coming season so that the club attains a new record high in Ugandan football," said team captain Daisy Nakaziro.

Just like Nakaziro, her assistant Reticia Nabbosa promised to live up to her expectations as the club seeks to win its first title.

The Masindi based women football outfit has embarked on screening and restructuring of its playing staff with the first phase having 11 players renew their contracts including Sarah Nakuya, Gladys Nakito, Juliet Neguwon, Adrine Birungi, Christine Madam, Lydia Nyandera, Eseza Kobusobozi, Esther Namaganda and Gertrude Karungi.

The above join their colleagues with running contracts who have confirmed their stay at the club.  They include Include; Fazila Ikwaput, Aisha Namagembe, Akiror Irene, Babirye Olivia, Esta Nahimana, Mary Nafula, Elizabeth Nakigozi and Madinah Nakaayi.
