The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda Dr. Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu has cautioned parents against using agricultural activities as a form of punishment to their children.

While receiving tractors from the Ministry of Agriculture at the provincial secretariat on Tuesday, Kaziimba noted that parents send their children to gardens not to practice farming but as a form of punishment, which he said was not a proper way of raising a child.

Dr Samuel Mugasa, the executive director of the National Agriculture Advisory Services (NAADS)  asked the Church to utilize tractors in a proper way in order to improve farming.

He added that the government, through the ministry of agriculture will donate more tractors to the Church in a bid to improve the agricultural sector in the country.

The first two tractors, according to Kaziimba, are to be donated to West Lango and Sebei dioceses.
