COVID-19: Over 100 released from isolation centre

KAMPALA - 133 Ugandans who had been isolated at Douglas Villa Hostel in Kikoni Makerere, Kampala district have been released.
The group, which has spent over 14 days in quarantine was issued with certificates of good health on Saturday as they cleared to go home. These were part of the Ugandans who had previously returned from UAE.
Dennis Ndakuyera, the principal nursing officer, who has been manning this isolation centre has confirmed that these people have been in detention since March 21, 2020.
Masitula Nakkazi, one of the people discharged said she returned from Dubai on March 19 where she working for three years. She came aboard Rwanda Airways.
"I left Entebbe International Airport and went to my mother's home in Mukono. When the Ministry of Health announced that it was looking for all Dubai returnees, I was in Bombo at a relative's home but I came back to Kampala immediately for COVID-19 screening," she said.
The hostel has been thoroughly sanitized and it will be out of bounds to the public for three days, according to Dr. George William Ssenabulya.
