German national strangled to death

Rudel who hails from the German town of Gunzenhausen, was found dead in his bedroom on Friday evening.

Four people have since been arrested and detained at Entebbe Police Station in connection to the Friday incident where a 70-year-old German national Rudel Friedrich Werner was found murdered at his home in Kitala, Katabi town council, Wakiso district.

Luke Owoyesigire the Kampala metropolitan deputy police spokesperson intimated that among the arrested persons include, the deceased's ex-wife a one Atwine, maid and two males who have been close to the deceased.

Rudel who hails from the German town of Gunzenhausen, was found dead in his bedroom on Friday evening.

The European who had a house in  Kitala along Entebbe road is believed to have been strangled from the balcony of his house before the body was dragged to his bedroom.

According to the area chairperson, Godfrey Mugerwa commonly known as London, authorities were tipped off by the deceased's neighbour only identified as Lt. Bwambale. "The deceased is said to have been a loud fellow, always calling out his dog.

So, when the neigbour spent a whole day without hearing any sound from the house, he notified us," said Mugerwa, the chairperson of the area.

The German national is reported to have been staying with his dog and a maid after he separated with his wife, 8 months ago. The couple had sired a son who is now 3-years-old.

Investigations into the murder have commenced. The suspects are yet to record statements at Entebbe Police Station.
