NRM registration materials arrive upcountry

NRM announced it had appointed party vice-chairperson Moses Kigongo to head a team who will train registrars ahead of the mass registration

 
Materials to be used for the registration and update of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) register have started arriving upcountry, party sources have said.
 
Lawrence Mayamba, who is working as the Zonal Technical Coordinator for Karamoja, said the material had arrived in Moroto district, where the training of technical staff will take place.
 
"We are going to train trainers of trainers who will then go down to the sub-county level and train branch registrars," he said.
 
NRM earlier announced that it had appointed the party's vice-chairperson, Moses Kigongo, to head a team of senior officials who will train registrars ahead of the mass registration of new members.

According to the party, the week-long countrywide registration process starts today with the training of administrative secretaries, district registrars, wealth creation officials from the office of the party's national chairman, who is also the President, sub-county supervisors, parish and village registrars.
 
Kigongo yesterday dispatched the team of trainers at Plot 10 Kyadondo as well as items that will facilitate the exercise to various districts. 
 
Reports from West Nile region also indicated that the materials had arrived and were received by Police at Adjumani Police Station.
