UFL: Bugema take on Gulu today in game two

The two teams last met in the 2018 group stages with Bugema University beating Gulu University 3-2 at home and 3-0 away in Gulu.

Last season's second runners-up, Bugema University have a chance to make it two wins in two games when they host Gulu University today in Group E of the Pepsi University Football League.

Bugema University beat new entrants Muni University 2-1 in Arua in their season opener, while Gulu University were held to a goalless draw at home by Nkumba University.

The two teams last met in the 2018 group stages with Bugema University beating Gulu University 3-2 at home and 3-0 away in Gulu. Prior to that, in 2017 Gulu University beat Bugema University 3-0 at Bugema and 3-2 at home.

For Bugema University coach Nyanzi Medhi, the game is a tricky one but he is confident they are going to win.

"I believe it is a game that we can and should win. The team we have as been improving over the years and right now we can handle Gulu. The players are in shape and I know we are going to win," Nyanzi said

Gulu University coach Okello Calvin is also confident of getting a good result.

"We are very ready for the game. Bugema is a team we have played against before and got good results and I think we can do it again," Okello said

Gulu will be boosted by the return of midfielders Onekalit Geoffrey and Opoka Allan who missed the first game due to injury.

"The good news is Onekalit and Opoka are back. We missed them in the midfield in the last game and it is a great boost for the team," Okello added.

UCU are the defending champions having defeated St Lawrence 2-1 in the final last season
