80 teams for Kabaka Birthday Volleyball Festival

The cultural sports festival will run from March 27 until March 29 at Lugogo.

KAMPALA - The 2020 Kabaka Birthday Volleyball Festival was successfully launched at Bulange, Mengo, with 80 teams expected to take part in the three-day event.

It will run from March 27 until March 29 at the KCCA grounds in Lugogo.

The Speaker of Lukiiko (Buganda Kingdom Parliament), Patrick Luwagga Mugumbule, representing Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga, launched the event.

He was flanked by the kingdom's minister of sports in charge of youth and recreation, Henry Ssekabembe, and other officials.

Luwagga appreciated the sponsors for their continued support and appealed others to come onboard.

This year's event is themed: Men for good health in ending HIV/AIDS.

On his part, Ssekabembe said Buganda kingdom is proud of the continued growth and development of the tournament.

"Just like the Masaza Football Tournament, we look forward to making it a priority event," said the minister.
