Proline boost relegation fight with win over Police

Proline FC coach Baker Mbowa was delighted with the result saying that his mission of winning fives home matches had begun well with the win over Police.

Proline boosted their chances of surviving relegation with a 2-1 win over Police at the StarTimes Stadium Lugogo on Tuesday.
Skipper Mustafa Mujuzi's first-half double strike from the spot ensured Proline bag maximum points to jump from the 16th to the 13th position on the log.
Mujuzi scored in the 4th and 14th minute after fouls on Hamis Kizza and Joseph Mandela in the 18-yard box before Police pulled one back through Derrick Kakooza's diving header off Pius Kaggwa's well-weighted cross.
Proline was responding to a 3-0 defeat away to Express in Kavumba a week ago.
Police who have been on an excellent run in the second round having won three of their last games in the league failed to find their rhythm against a hard-fighting Proline side.
Proline FC Coach Mbowa is looking for five home wins in order to survive relegation.
They are coming off another 2-0 defeat in the Uganda cup away to Admin FC in Soroti on Sunday. Despite the defeat, Police remain in the 11th position on 21 points.
Proline dominated the second half and could have scored more but their strikers Brian Umony and Diego Hamis Kiiza were not clinical.
Police goalkeeper Davis Mutebi also worked hard to pulling off up a couple of saves to deny Hakim Kiwanuka and Bright Anukani.

"It a great feeling, and our mission to win five home games has kicked off well,"
"Our target is to survive relegation. We are moving in the right direction," a joyful Mbowa stated.
"We created multiple chances but we failed to finish them, it's something I am going to put much emphasis on in our next training," he promised.
A frustrated Abdullah Mubiru declined to speak to the media after the game.
Mubiru was left frustrated by the back-to-back defeats.
Elsewhere Erisa Ssekisambu and Sadat Anaku scored each as KCCA beat Kyetume 2-0 to go within two points of leaders Vipers SC who were held to a goalless by Brian Ssenyondo's Mbarara City.
The draw adds pressure to newly appointed coach Fred Kajoba who was appointed on Saturday, replacing Edward Golola. URA was held to a 1-1 draw by Tooro United in Fort Portal.
At the Greenlight Stadium in Arua, Rashid Okocha's late strike gave Onduparaka three points over Busoga United following a 2-1 victory.
