The Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi has recognised and awarded the 2019 Masaza Cup champions Bulemeezi during a luncheon held at Bamunanika playgrounds in Luwero on Thursday.

The Kabaka presented personalized accolades to players, coaches, and officials of the team.

He thereafter expressed his satisfaction with the continued success the competition is registering every season.

"It gives me the joy to see the competition continue to grow season after season. It has helped to unite our people," the Kabaka appreciated.

He also commended the kingdom ministry of youth and sports for the good organisation of the competition.

"I want to appreciate the sports ministry in Mengo for the excellent organisation of the competition," he added.

Kingdom Prime Minister Katikiro Charles Peter Mayiga reminded people to observe discipline during the games. He observed that players, officials, coaches, and supporters adherence to discipline will take this competition very far.

"For the competition to thrive, players, coaches, officials, and supporters must observe discipline at the stadiums," the Katikiro advised.

It should be recalled that during a Group A clash between Buddu and Mawokota at Mpigi Police playgrounds, fans from both sides clashed, in the process destroying property worth millions of shillings on top of a Buddu fan Robert Kabirye losing his life in the fracas.

The award ceremony was graced by ministers from the Buganda government, members of Parliament and religious leaders from Luwero District.
