Four candidates Dipu Ruparelia, Jack Wavamunno, Geofrey Nsamba and incumbent Dusman Okee will battle it out for the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU) top seat on February 1 at Lugogo.
The four are the only ones that returned their nominations for the position.
Wavamunno, also Federation founder, served as president for four years from 2001 and was replaced by David Bitalo in 2005.
He later bounced back in 2014 after George Kagimu's two terms of service and served for a two-year term up to 2016, but was defeated by Okee who had served as his deputy.
Wavamunno who is currently a member of the senate that plays an advisory role to the federation management committee headed by Okee has opted to fight back.
He said that his return is meant to accomplish his strategic plan he had laid before he was rooted by Okee.
"I had a five-year plan which was not accomplished and am coming to implement it in one term of four years," Wavamunno told New Vision.
Just like other candidates, he cited safety, training of Clerk of the Course (COC's) who can handle international events, capacity building in clubs, training of stewards to manage international events and building structures as his main reasons for standing.
"Today the petitions in events are because of lack of trust and we have to build that trust back," Wavamunno added.
Meanwhile, Deputy Vice president in charge of motorcycling Barak Orland did not seek a second term of office, citing a busy business schedule.
Veteran sports administrator Kisitu Mayanja, outgoing secretary Joseph Mwangala and former navigator George Ssemakula want to take up that role.
Shemmy Ssenkatuuka, Katende Mukiibi, Kenneth Kitariko, Kees Kagolo and Albert Ofwong eye the vice presidency seat.
Raynolds Kibira and Irene Leila Blick will face off for the general secretary position while Kato Hussein went through unopposed for the post of Deputy vice president in charge Vintage.
