He thanked the UPDF for allowing their children to join the UPDF. He said they are interested in specific professions and non-professionals. Recruits must be 18-25 years of age, all must be single.

Great Trek kicks off

"We are aged and phasing out, the youth we refer to as Bazzukulu should be prepared to take on the mantle and carry the struggle forward, said Presidential military advisor and defense attache to Tanzania, Maj. Gen. Stephen Kashaka.
This was at Kololo Independence Grounds where he led a group of bush war veterans to honor and give there respect to former President of Uganda and first chairm2of NRM, Prof. YUSUF Kironde Lule.
This was at the eve of a six-day trek for 195km tracing the days of the NRA war struggle.
Ths trek that will cover seven districts will Saturday, January 4 flagged off by President Yoweri Museveni.
Speaking to New Vision, Gen Kashaka said they could have committed a few mistakes here and there but advised the young generation to avoid them and carry the revolution forward.
The officers saluted and bowed there heads at Lule's cemetery. "The importance of this function is historical," he said.

New ministers face Parliament committee for vetting
Newly appointed ministers have been vetted today. Raphael Magyezi, minister for the local government came out of the vetting room beaming with happiness.
