Okello, Kizza puzzle as local transfer window beckons
Dec 30, 2019
Tanzania giants Azam FC is one of the clubs that reportedly wants to take on Okello and Kizza when their contracts expire at the end of the season.
Local clubs can look forward to beefing up their squads when the transfer window opens on January 1, ahead of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League second round.
With the transfer looming, defending champions KCCA FC are grappling on how to keep their key players Allan Okello and Mustafa Kizza.
The duo has refused to renew their contracts that end in July next year with KCCA and have not returned to Lugogo for training ahead of the second round of the league that kicks off on January 7.
Both Okello and Kizza want a monthly pay raise and better contract terms fees if they are to remain at Lugogo or else leave as free agents.
The duo who have also had trials in Europe in the past, also want to look for greener pastures since they feel they have done their best at KCCA FC.
KCCA had agreed to sell Kizza to the Czech Republic third division side MFV Vyskoz but the move failed to take off, Kizza and MFV Vyskoz having failed to agree on terms. MFV Vyskoz was offering only a monthly stipend of $1500 (sh5m) without a sign-on-fee.

KCCA has struggled in the first round of the league finishing second, four points behind Vipers and will need to address their striking force challenges before they face Mbarara City on January 8th in their opening second round fixture.
In the last five outings between both sides, four have ended in draws while Mbarara City managed to pick a 2-1 victory in the first round at Kakyeka.
