He is survived by four children aged between two and six years

The family of a 38-year-old Ugandan engineer, who died in an accident in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, has sought the Government's help to bring back his body.

According to Saul Irema, his elder brother Eng. Emmanuel Basiimwe, from Rwampara district, was working with Technical Core General Contractors in Abu Dhabi at the time of his death.

Irema said his brother died in an accident on December 18, but the company he worked for has been tight-lipped on the matter.

"His friends in Abu Dhabi told us that he died when, together with two others, was involved in a motor accident as they headed to work from a camp," Irema says.

He said his brother worked as a technical engineer in the mechanics and maintenance section and has been in Abu Dhabi for three years.

"We do not know where the body is at the moment. That is why we want the Government to help and be able to bring the body home," Irema said.

Basiimwe is survived by four children aged between two and six years.

"In July he was here and was doing well. I was shocked to get the news that he had died. All his phones are off, which confirms that he is dead," Irema said.

Irema said his brother was taken to Abu Dhabi by an individual only identified as Jackson, whose phones became unavailable when the news of Basiimwe's demise broke out.

Irema says he made a report at Interpol and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he was informed that they did not have any news concerning his brother's death.
