One soldier attached to the Special Forces Command (SFC) died in an accident on Thursday on the Jinja-Kayunga road.

Maj. Denis Omara, the SFC public relations officer, told New Vision by telephone this morning that two other presidential guards were injured but were out of danger.

"We lost one soldier. A truck carrying sand knocked down our vehicle," he said.

The vehicle which was involved in the accident was State House Comptroller Lucy Nakyobe's lead car.

"Madam Nakyobe was rushing to Pallisa to attend Mzee's (President Museveni) function," he revealed.

"We cannot disclose the identity of the soldier until the family is officially informed. We are saddened by this loss; it's a sad moment for the UPDF family," Omara said
