Alunga, Komugisha top Stanbic Mug of Mugs
Dec 16, 2019
“I will now start preparing for next season where I hope to win many more tournaments..."
Michael Alunga and Judith Komugisha ended the Stanbic monthly mug competitions in style, winning the final Mug of Mugs competition at Kitante on Saturday.
Alunga and Komugisha returned 38 and 34 stable ford points respectively to emerge the overall winners of the closing mug club contest that is played monthly.
Komugisha was a double winner on the day, picking the nearest to the pin prize as well. The win was a good addition to the various Group A accolades Alunga has won this year.
"This is my first time to win the overall mug and it feels good. The course was wet and it favoured my game because I could just place the ball where I wanted," Alunga noted.
"I will now start preparing for next season where I hope to win many more tournaments," national team player, Alunga stated.
Emmanuel Jakisa, Joel Kakira, and Mark Namanya were the top players in the men's Groups A-C while Anne Abeja and Ruth Ssali topped the ladies Groups; A and B.
Stanbic Head of Business Banking Grace Muliisa presided over the prize ceremony.
