Balinya, the top scorer in the 2018-19 Uganda Premier League, was unveiled at Yanga in June.

Just six months into his contract with Yanga, Juma Balinya's stay with the Tanzanian giants has come to an end.

"We have agreed to part ways with Yufuf Balinya. We wish him the best in his future endeavors," read Swahili club communication yesterday.

Yanga, however, did not explain exactly why they were parting ways with the Ugandan star.

Balinya, the top scorer in the 2018-19 Uganda Premier League, was unveiled at Yanga in June.

The attacking midfielder joins Emmanuel Okwi, Hamis "Diego" Kizza, Steven Bengo on the list of Ugandans who have previously featured for the Tanzanian giants.

Balinya caught the eye of a number of foreign clubs this year after he top scored with 19 goals.

He started his career with Vipers SC before leaving for a stint with AS Port in Djibouti. He thereafter joined relegated Lweza.

His next stop was Police FC for the 2017/18 season. It is here that he played some of his best football.
