Afternoon showers wreck havoc in Kampala

Roads and businesses flooded, and pedestrians having to wade through muddy waters

Activities in some areas Kampala's busiest areas came to a standstill on Friday afternoon following the rains that lasted for about an hour.

Despite the shower not lasting long, pedestrians, cyclists and motorists had to contend with floods at Clock Tower on Entebbe Road. Enterprising men were seen making a quick buck by carrying pedestrians who didn't want to wade through the water, on their backs for a fee.

Business in Owino Market also came to a standstill as Nakivubo Channel overflowed and left shops submerged in muddy waters.
