A principal government analyst, Geoffrey Onen has told court that the Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) generated from the exhibits in the mobile money murder suspects case, matched their DNAs.

The accused, Pte Bob Anichan, Dennis Mangusho, Stanley Mulunda and Issa Ntale are battling two counts of murder and aggravated robbery.

The four are accused of having killed Harriet Nalwadda and Moureen Nakabuubi, the then mobile money operators at Zzana in Wakiso district.

The charges contravene section 188, 189, 258 and 286 of the Penal Code Act.

Murder charges attract a death sentence and aggravated robbery fascinates life imprisonment on conviction.

Testifying before the General Court Martial (GCM) chaired by Lt. Gen. Andrew Gutti, Onen said that the blood samples taken from the accused, marched with blood stains taken from the exhibits.

"In my conclusion, there is strong genetic evidence that the bag and the red jacket which bare bloodstains of the deceased belong to the accused in the dock," Onen said.

Onen, a forensic expert from the Directorate of Government Analytical Laboratory assured court that he verified the blood samples of the deceased, the suspects, their bag and a jacket that belonged to Ntale.

So far, eleven witnesses have testified in the case and they all pinned the suspects for having killed Nalwadda and Nakabuubi.

The state prosecutor, Lt. Col. Raphael Mugisha requested court to adjourn the case as they prepare their last four witnesses.

"My Lord Chairman and the honorable members of this court, we pray for an adjournment to allow us prepare the remaining four witnesses," Mugisha said.

This prompted the court chairman to adjourn the case to November 19, 2019 for further hearing.

Prosecution arranges that the accused and others still at large on June 10, 2019 at Zzana cell Bunamwaya, Makindye Ssabagabo in Wakiso district, with malice aforethought caused the death of Nakabuubi and Nalwadda.

It is also contended that the accused robbed Nalwadda of over sh6m and immediately or before the time of the armed robbery were in unlawful possession of a deadly weapon to wit two SMG rifles.
