Proline FC are on the verge of making it to CAF Confederation Cup group stages following their surprise 2-2 draw with Libya's Al-Nasr in the first leg of the playoff round played on Sunday night at Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria, Egypt.

Matia Lule's side that extended their unbeaten run in their maiden appearance in continental club competitions came from behind twice in the match played to level matters.

The Uganda Cup holders who had an impressive performance conceded an early lead through Mahdi Ben Dhifallah in the 13th minute before defender and skipper of the day Mustafa Mujuzi found the equaliser for Proline in the 43rd minute from a free-kick past goalkeeper Salah Al-Fitouri.

Al-Nasr went ahead again after midfielder Khaled Madji Al-Maremy scored from the spot in the 67th minute following Richard Ajuna's handball in the penalty area but a few minutes later Bright Anukani leveled matters for Ptoline after a well-workedout cross from Hamis Kizza.

Proline returns home with a two away-goals advantage ahead of the return leg slated for this Sunday at Lugogo. A goalless or 1-1 draw at home will see Proline make it to the lucrative stages of the Confederations Cup.

The other Ugandan representatives in the same competition, KCCA FC who settled for a goalless draw with Algeria's Paradou Athletic Club at the StarTimes Stadium on Sunday will be hoping to sharpen their strike force in order to pick a positive result in Algiers on Sunday.

While KCCA brings a wealth of continental experience, most of its current players just like those of Proline are making their maiden appearance on the continent.

Both Proline and KCCA FC are assured of at least $ 275,000 (sh1b) if they reach the group stages.
