Toufik Moussaoui keeps his side in the contest with a fine save. Corner to KCCA.

But nothing good comes from it. Into the final minute of stoppage time.

Three minutes added to this action.

Where is the goal?

Who is the hero?

They need to travel with a goal to Algiers.

Okello once again tests the visitors' keeper but Moussaoui saves well.

Meanwhile, KCCA bring on Steven Sserwadda in the place of Muzamiru Mutyaba.

Fifteen minutes left for Mutebi's side to find a goal.

70min |   Paradou on the counter!

KCCA 0 Paradou 0

As it stands, this is still advantage Paradou as they have done well to keep KCCA at bay. In fact, they get down to a counter attack, with Abdeldjalil Tahri championing the surge.

It will not come to anything though - but what it does is to serve a timely reminder to the hosts of the danger that Paradou pose.

68min |   Bouchina gets medical attention

KCCA 0 Paradou 0

Here is the moment when Paradou skipper Mustapha Bouchina needed medical attention.

It is that man again - Allan Okello. But the KCCA striker misses again. He is getting closer.

_____________________________

Second half is around the corner. What reforms will KCCA head coach Mike Mutebi make in the next 45 minutes?

_____________________________

4.54pm |   HALF TIME - Precision needed

KCCA 0 Paradou 0

Although the hosts have not picked up a goal in the opening half, they have created plenty of chances to warrant a bright performance so far. They will now have to be more precise in front of goal in the coming 45 minutes if they are to carry a vital advantage to Algiers in a week's time.

_____________________________

4.48pm |   HALF TIME - All square at Lugogo

KCCA 0 Paradou 0

There goes the referee's whistle. Plenty of action but no goal yet from the opening 45 minutes.

Who will be happier with this opening half display?

_____________________________

45 min |   Two minutes of added time

The referee will allow two minutes of added time in this affair.

Can we see an opener?

That should have been the first goal - but Allan Okello fails to beat Paradou keeper Toufik Moussaoui.

_____________________________

36 min |   Paradou keeping it tight

KCCA 0 Paradou 0

The visitors may be sitting at the foot of the Algerian premier league back home, but they are not showing that show here in Kampala.

Paradou are proving a resilient force against KCCA.

Meanwhile, Mike Mutebi is busy on the sidelines, barking out instructions to his lads on the pitch. They need to get a goal in the first half.

_____________________________

33 min |   CLOSE! - Okello (KCCA)

KCCA 0 Paradou 0

KCCA get a corner, which is swept into the box. Allan Okello collects but fires wide of the mark.

That was close, but the KCCA forward will have to sharpen his boots. Time is running.

3:35pm |   'We know what is at stake' - KCCA skipper Lukwago

KCCA vs Paradou (kickoff at 4pm)

For KCCA captain and goalkeeper Charles Lukwago, it's all about fighting for what's left on the continent.

"We are prepared. We know what is at stake. We know what we need, and like the manager said, we don't have any other opportunity on the continent [this season] apart from capitalising on this. If we still want to be on the continent, we need to negotiate this fixture very well. So we are prepared and we know what we are fighting for.

"We had set our target on making it to the group stage of the Champions League, but still this [Confederation Cup] is continental football. The first target here is to make it to the group stages and we get more games on the continent," he told reporters.

3:30pm |   'It's all or nothing' - KCCA coach Mutebi

KCCA vs Paradou (kickoff at 4pm)

KCCA head coach Mike Mutebi told a pre-match press conference that his side must win or else get nothing.

"We are very well prepared, especially after winning our last game in the Uganda Premier League [3-1 against Maroons]. Scoring three goals has given us confidence because we have not been scoring. And you know, all the forwards are our scorers, which gives them confidence.

"From the clips we have watched [of Paradou], they are very good on the ball and play very well on the counter - home or away. So we have to deal with that challenge. That means we must match them in as far as using the ball is concerned, especially in the midfield, and maybe have the cutting edge in the final third, where I think football is mainly defined from.

"Meanwhile, if we are playing on the counterattack, that means we shall have more bodies in their half. We gave ourselves that target - of playing on the continent, so we shall try to do all that we have to see that we negotiate this tie and through to the group stages. And I believe we have the capacity to do it.

"We have to win. It's all or nothing. We must do our things the right way we have been doing them, try to be confident and have a lot of belief in ourselves," he said.

3:10pm |   How KCCA got here

KCCA vs Paradou (kickoff at 4pm)

KCCA, the defending champions of Uganda's top tier football league, were taken out of further Champions League action by Angolan side Petro de Luanda on the away goals rule after a 1-1 aggregate result in the first round.

Their elimination from the Champions League thrust them right in the heart of Confederation Cup football, starting from the play-off round.

The draw for the play-off round was held on Uganda's Independence Day - October 9 - in the Egyptian capital Cairo. The winners of the Confederation Cup first round were drawn against the losers of the Champions League first round, with the teams from the Confederation Cup hosting the second leg. The 16 winners of the play-off round will advance to the group stage.

KCCA was pitted against Paradou.
