Zimbabwe's president to grace 57th Independence celebration

President of Zimbabwe Emmerson Mnangagwa will be a special guest at 57th Uganda's Independence Day celebrations which is to be held in Sironko district under the theme; Consolidation of National Unity, Security, Freedom and Prosperity.

Makerere student arrested

Mobile money agent shoot

Uganda hosts regional ICT conference

Uganda hosts the second African preparatory meeting for the World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly. Nearly 15 countries from different parts of the continent.

Wheelchair basketballers prepping up

Uganda wheelchair Basketball Federation (UWBF) targets winning the East Africa tournament due next weekend October 16-20 in Nairobi Kenya.

The regional tournament has attracted countries including Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan, Tanzania, Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda and hosts Kenya.

 

However, the team is yet to get sh45m to meet their transport, accommodation, participation and up keep for the two teams in Nairobi. 

 According to the Federation president Sulaiman Mayanja, the two teams comprise 20 players of which eight form the women side and 12 the men's side.

"We are training hard but our challenge is finance to have the team travel for the regional event. We appeal to the public to support us," Mayanja said.
