Youth associated with the East Africa Book of Records have collected signatures from friends and well-wishers of President Yoweri Museveni at his 75-years celebrations in recognition of his contribution to peace, development, and transformation of Uganda and the region.

Paul Bamutaze, the team leader of the East Africa Book of Records, a subsidiary of the Guinness World Records said the youth had decided to collect signatures from across section of well-wishers to send their views about the president's achievement especially at a time when he is celebrating 75 years.

In 2014, the group awarded Museveni with the Peace and Stability Award, as the first President of Uganda to restore peace and stability in the entire country, which they said no other leader had managed to set the record in the history of Uganda. They handed him a copy of the East Africa Book of Records.

They also recognized him for his contribution to peace and stability in the East and Central Africa region especially in South Sudan and Somalia, where they said even superpowers had failed to achieve.

Speaking to New Vision in Kampala, Bamutaze said that although the President did not officially hold any party to celebrate his birthday, they organized a signature board, which was signed by different individuals at various events, which they have prepared to hand over to him.

The board was signed, among others, by the minister of health, Jane Ruth Aceng. "This is to wish you a very happy birthday. May the good Lord grant you many more years, may He grant you good health, divine protection and continue to fill you with wisdom to lead the country," the minister's message read.

She added; "Your visionary leadership and commitment to develop Uganda and raise it to a middle-income status inspires many of us whom you have mentored. God bless you abundantly," she stated.

Patrick Lukandwa stated, "Your birth is a true reflection of peace, development, and transformation".

Other messages came from the National Resistance Movement Secretary-General, Kasule Lumumba, who wrote; "Thank you for leading Uganda to this level of development, sacrificing your time to make sure the region is safe".

"My youth president and candidate for this motherland where God made sure I am born, serve with you humanity to-date let's celebrate your service," she added.

Others wishes came from Lydia Wanyoto, the National Chairperson of the NRM Women League, among others.

According to Bamutaze, the youth have also designed him a certificate, declaring him a development champion. "We are proud to celebrate the life of our President as an individual," he stated.

Other leaders who have been recognized by the group include former President of Tanzania, Jakaya Kikwete who was in 2015 recognized for his leadership champion, Kenya's Uhuru Kenyatta as the first sitting president to win a case before the International Criminal court.

Businessman Sudhir Ruparelia was in 2018 also awarded the East Africa Business leadership award.

President Museveni has received a number of accolades for promoting peace and stability in the EAC and beyond especially in DR. Congo and Somalia and for and demonstrating tolerance to even those who abuse him.
