Poetry enchants revelers at Kwivuga night

Kwivuga is a platform for various artists to shine. The event was held in Kampala. Mostly, poets take center stage and have since forged an identity for Kwivuga.

This time around, whether scripted or unscripted, the spoken word was flowing on love, something that excited the crowds whose ears were wide open to listen.

If the story is about love, believe it or not, no one tells that story better than a poet. With Linda Nabasa opening for the poets, her words could either make you fall in love immediately or think twice about love.

Nelson Ntaro came in with a different flow. Every ardent fan of Kwivuga knows how complicated Ntaro's words are. It is quite hard to understand what exactly he is saying and the feeling wasn't any different on Friday night.

Other performers included Maritza, who delivered a poetry piece about how a woman's body should be respected especially by men at all times. Zena the poet and Arinda Daphine also entertained the crowd with their poetic prowess.

Besides the striking acts of the poets, there were some musicians ready to keep fans in excitement mode. Valarheey, an astounding vocalist gave Kwivuga an irresistible moment of RnB music. With her unique way of fusing hit songs of other artists into one song, she indeed pulled the crowd.

Always the best is saved for last. No one else could close the night better than Mo Roots. The saxophonist, vocalist who has just launched her latest album, was eagerly waited for by the fired-up crowd.

When she stepped on stage with her guitarist, Martin Mutabingwa, it was time to get groovy and humbled in soft love music at the same time. Performing a few tracks like Let it Breath and Path of my own from her new album, Mo Roots closed the night leaving fans satisfied.
