Museveni in Japan for TICAD Summit

This years’ conference is being held under the theme “Africa and Yokohama, Sharing Passion for the future”
President Yoweri Museveni on Tuesday arrived in the Japanese seaside city of Yokohama where he joins other world leaders to attend the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) that kicks of Wednesday at the Pacifico Yokohama Convention Centre.
Museveni was received at Haneda International Airport by the Special Assistant to the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, Hisanobu Hasama, Uganda's state minister for works Gen. Edward Katumba Wamala, foreign affairs permanent secretary Patrick Mugoya and Uganda's ambassador to Japan, Betty Aketch Okullo.
This years' conference is being held under the theme 'Africa and Yokohama, Sharing Passion for the future'.
The conference is hosted by the Japanese government and is co-sponsored by the United Nations, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Africa Union Commission and the World Bank.
Museveni will on Wednesday address the plenary on the topic, 'Accelerating economic transformation and improving business environment through innovation and private sector engagement'.
