Gunmen shoot businessman dead in Rubanda

KAMPALA - Police in Rubanda is hunting for unknown gunmen who shot dead a 50-year-old businessman.

The Kigezi regional Police Spokesperson Elly Maate has identified the deceased as Samuel Twinomujuni, a resident of Kibungo village in Kaara Parish, Muko Sub-County, in Rubanda district.

He says the incident happened on Friday night at around 11 pm, just a stone throw away to his home.

Police add that by the time Twinomujuni was shot, he was coming from his shop.

"They shot him in the back and died instantly as he was approaching his house," Maate said.

Upon notification, Police rushed to the scene and found the businessman lying in a pool of blood. 

"Postmortem was carried out and we are still making further inquiries vide Muko SD: 20/23/08/19," he said.
