Geoffrey Sserunkuma started his campaign with Wakiso Giants on a good note after scoring on his debut.
 
Sserunkuma who joined the new league entrants from Zambia's Napsa Stars was on target as Wakiso Giants beat Tooro United 2-1 yesterday in the classification tie of the Pilsner Super 8 at Wakissha Resource Centre, Wakiso.
 
The former KCCA FC striker scored from the spot in 16th minute before Davis Ssali leveled matters for Tooro United at the death of half time. Karim Ndugwa put Wakiso ahead with the second and winner.
 
The Super 8 is a competition that comprises of the top six teams in the country and two teams that were promoted directly to the top-tier from FUFA Big League. These include; KCCA, Vipers, URA, Tooro United Mbarara City, Onduparaka, Proline, and Wakiso Giants.
 
Elsewhere, URA will play Proline in the other classification match at Namboole.
 
This year's prize money has been doubled from sh30m last season to sh68m with the winning team receiving sh20m, runners up sh12m, third-placed team sh10m and fourth sh8m. The fifth to eight teams will receive sh5m, sh4m, and sh3m respectively.
 
KCCA beat Onduparaka 2-0 to win the last edition of the competition and the two sides will face off again in this year's second semifinal on Friday. Vipers beat Mbarara City 5-3 in penalties after 1-1 to make it to the final.
