Bogere scored a hat trick to give Proline an advantage ahead of the return leg in the capital city of Malawi Lilongwe around August 23-25

KAMPALA - Ivan Bogere was the hero of the day as Proline beat Masters Security Services 3-0 in the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round first leg at the Star Times Stadium, Lugogo.

Bogere scored a hat trick to give Proline an advantage ahead of the return leg in Lilongwe, Malawi later this month.

"We played as a team to reach this level. It has not been easy but the trust and belief from the fellow players and technical team have helped me to perform. I want to continue performing well, "stated Bogere.

Proline who also missed a lot of scoring opportunities managed to circulate the ball well and their strength in both wings gave them an advantage over Masters.

Masters, who lacked the efficiency in the final third, also struggled to play on the artificial turf, a surface they are not used to playing on.

The winner between Proline and Masters Security Services after both legs will play either Rwanda's AS Kigali or Tanzania's KMC in the next stage.
